Our restaurant is located in the centre of Siebeneich. The house was built in 1664 and is known to locals as Vogelmeierhof. Since then the structure has always been carefully looked after. The restaurant has been in our family for over 100 years and we are now the third and fourth generations to run the restaurant. We celebrated our centenary in 2012. Heinz and his son Florian are heading the kitchen and Vroni looks after our guests at the table. In addition Florian is president of the association Gruppe Südtiroler Gasthaus (a group of traditional restaurants and inns in South Tyrol), founded in 2012. It is our aim to welcome our guests in the well-known tradition of South Tyrolean hospitality!

Our South Tyrolean home-style cuisine with a twist and Mediterranean influence is based on fresh, local and seasonal products. The best example is our well-known asparagus weeks during which we bring the asparagus from the Terlan area (branded as Margarete asparagus) directly from the field to our kitchen.

Fruit, vegetables and herbs are mostly grown in our own garden or by a farmer from the next village. In autumn our menu focuses on porcini mushrooms, pumpkins and squashes, chestnuts and root vegetables as well as local venison. We love to cook with traditional types of vegetable such as turnips, which are especially used during the months of November and December. Our jams, mostardas and chutneys as well as our desserts are exclusively homemade in our kitchen and round off your visit with us.
Speck and wine
We serve mostly fine wines from South Tyrolean wineries especially from our local Terlan region. This also applies for our distillates and grappas on offer.
